hi folks, glad this is working again - telly sucks:D

how the hell can you check the level of the radiator overflow bottle?? i ask because of this.......Rad level spot on - short journey - check level again - nothing there - takes 1/2 pint water to top up. 100% no leaks from system at all - checked extensively - then noticed after returning from journey - a little puddle appears directly under where the overflow plastic bottle is (passenger side)

Also, whats the top up funnell above this bottle and how do you know how much to put in.

am i being thick - and is this puddle normal if the system is overfull - how can it be if there is water missing when i check again:confused:

any help appreciated

It's easy to check the level in the bottle - there is a dipstick as part of the cap (at least there should be!)

It is likely that the bottle is overfull and therefore leaking when hot water from the rad expands into it.

Quick suggestion, buy a new rad cap from Nissan under a tenner and will almost certainly cure the water loss as described.

I dont think its anything serious. I did a very quick manuver into a carpark once and when I stopped water was pissing out of my car from around the passenger intercooler area. I shat myself, but it was just water over flowing due to my manuver and the water being a little full already.

Mine did that when it had air in the system, just a thought.
