FIRST night out in the 300ZXTT and something goes wrong.

The car sounds like its not firing on all cylinders and it happend just after I was racing an Audi TT........and the power has gone too although when you get up to speed it seems OK?!?!?

Not good, not good at all.

Has anyone got any ideas??????:( :( :( :(

They way I look at it, the car should be able to take a rag every now and them, thats why I bought one, so I need to get to the bottom of this.:(

a little more info might help on this,

is it a definate misfire or is it just lack of power?

how does it idle? smooth/rough?

have you done an ECU diagnostic? (details in online manual if you dont know how to)

it could be something as simple as a poor electrical contact. check & clean (with electrical cleaner) all the contacts under the bonnet - PTU, CAS, TPS, coils etc

HTH

i have the same year and model, had similar problem

and i found that the connectors that fit over the spark

plugs have a tendansy to come up , you might try

locating them and push on the top just to make sure..

Erm... isn't that what craig said? LMAO ;)

Very common problem.

Just check coil plugs. One or two must have moved a little and they are not making contact. ==> Loss of power and car is vibrating at idle and low RPMS.

Hi Nitropow

I have just returned from Eden Beach Hotel, Limmasol.

Did I see you driving round there?

I only seen two cars, a Red 300ZX with two large pipes and a silver one on the A6 which went like lightening!!!!

Ohh man.

You should have let me know before and I would have taken you for a ride.

Mine is silver. With WingWest Bodykit and UK licence plates.

In Limassol there are 3 silver Z's (Mine, my borthers -which is broken : needs new radiator - and another one which I only see 2 times and the owner is an old man and never speeds).

So it must have been me. :)

Wow how freaky is that.

I tried to race you in my 1.9td vitara but I diddnt have much chance.

It was when you were going by the roadworks and you were stuck behind a car and I came up close to your ass just so you'd boot it!!! And you did, nice car and yes it was on UK plates now I come to think about it.

Shame I diddnt realise you were there, would have been cool to hook up.:D

You were right about that thing that sits on top of the spark plug, it keeps doing it when I get to 6000rpm, so I have invented a little plastic bracket that bolts to the manifold to hold it down!!

How can I post pics of my car on here!

Yeah :) I usually do that when someone stick one my rear bumber.

You have to include the image withinh the img]tags.

Click the [help] link next to vB Code and it explains you how.

However if you want to create a profile with pics you have to be a subscribed member (i guess).

As for the coil plugs you can also use tieracks (the plastic that tides the wires)
