Wanna Buy A ZX

Hello all, i'm in the market for a 300zx. I have found one that is within my price range, but has 160k miles on it. The engine has been replace due to a broken timing belt, and the new engine has 19k miles on it. It has a new clutch in it, and the interior is aftermarket. I would like to know if there are any other areas that i need to have checked for repairs, or if any major work is coming my way soon, such as a new transmission or suspension. Thanks, if you could email me I would appreciate it. whtmike102k@hotmail.com

If it really is a new engine it could be worth it. Get thh details of the car and check if anyone on this forum used to own it. The engine may still have a warranty from Nissan?

If its an auto you find it needs a recon unless its been done already. Manmuals will be Ok but check clutch. Suspension, bushes ( esp rear sub frame) may all be knackered (but replaceable). centre Propshaft bearing may need checking.

get the RAC or someone on this forum or jeff at zedworld to give it the once over. The killer is rust. Z's are pretty rust free but that would put me off. everything else is replaceable/upgradeable but at a price.

Just be carefull what you buy mate there are a few zeds out there and it pays to take your time when looking for one i always make the mistake of rushing into buying things and it neva pays off.And these arnt cheap motors when they go wrong good luck mate

You didn't say where you were from, maybe someone local will come and have a look with you.
