What The ****

Hi,

If you remember me last week and my running problem,I got in the Z to do a test drive and also meet the Mrs to do a bit of shopping yesterday, and everything is as it should be.No stalling,No running problems at all?????????.Tried to get the CAS off last weekend and do the test i was told about, but I could'nt move it at all.May be by messing about with the CSA is it possable to move something in there the could give me my stalling problem. How do you losen the CSA ?.......tips please.or just leave it be!!!!!

I assume CSA is a typo for CAS, otherwise ignore this :p

First mark the location/angle of the cas by lightly scraping a small line over the edge of the cas onto the engine block with a flat head screwdriver if you know what i mean? (I hate trying to describe stuff!!) Then just undo the 3 bolts with a 10mm socket and in theory it is now lose. You might have to wiggle it about a bit, even tap it with the handle of a screwdriver to losen it, you should be able to eventually pull it off towards you.

Can i ask what test you are doing?

If it's the voltage one you dont really need to take it off.

Let me know if this makes any sence or not and ill try and reword it/even take some pics.

Cheers

Oh and about leave it or fix it... Well if it aint broke dont try to fix it :p But on the otherhand you dont want it to brake down somewhere dodgy like Wales or the West Midlands :p

Rob,

The CSA is CAS sorry about that.

You said you could do a voltage test on the CAS without removing it ,this would be handy as i have tried the method you explained to remove the CAS but it won't budge.

CheerZ KEN ;)

Sorry Ken,

I forgot you do need to remove it! I did a lot of diagnostics and most parts like the MAS you can leave on the engine, but the CAS does need to be removed. Loosen the bolts keep turning side to side to try and loosen it, it will eventually come off towards you. Just make sure u mark it so it goes back on in roughly the same place otherwise your timing could be way out.

Have you run an ECU diag yet???

Mrs T had the stalling problem on her 200 and me mate over the road ran diags and it gave up the CAS error code. Replaced with second hander and it was cured!

Yes Tim did that when the car was playing up, got code 55. I believe the CAS fault code is 11 or is it not ?

KenZ :)

Yep, correct. 11 is CAS circuit.

If you posted a thread before I missed it, when is it stalling and is it manwell or auto?

Tim, it stalled when the car came to a stop and it was just ticking over. Then after a time i tried to start it and it just reevved and pittered out. When i got it back home i started it in the afternoon and it ran until it got warm then it just stopped. now it's fine been for a few miles and nothing (Weired) O and it's an auto 1993 UK TT.

Ken Z

I've used the work computer so i've come back on as BLOW ME sorry.
