Hi guys (n gals)?

Anyone know how much of a sod it is to fit poly bushes all around (front and rear)? Does it require a work pit and special tooling? And if so, do you know anyone who can do it?

The rear end seems to tramline quite badly and wanders quite a lot, at first I thought it was dampers but I thought I'd try this fix first. I've done the HICAS diagnostic and it's ok. Anyway, I guessed it wouldn't be the HICAS as I couldn't believe Nissan would produce a car that felt that nervy at the rear end at even average speeds! Or am I wrong? Feedback required...

Cheers

The rear subframe bushes are a right pain as you have to take the whole thing right off and be ready for a lot of banging with a hammer if you don't have a press. You don't need any special tools though just brut force. I did them all one weekend so don't really take too long.

You should probably fit differential ones if fitting the subframe ones but make sure you trim a bit off the passengers side, as the diff doesn't go right back if not.

I did have a bit of wheel hop to the sides and wandering (and leaking) so I changed these and the shocks, but still made no difference. I will try getting the camber, caster etc angles checked next.:(

Hmmm... Well, I just read the article (minus the photo's), if it didn't really fix it then I might just go for a Tein suspension kit, that was a bit further down the shopping list. Sounds like stiffer rear shocks have a bigger effect overall... Did you fit standard rear shocks?

No I fitted Koni adjustables, the old ones where leaking. But have recently fitted 18's and this has helped quite a bit.

You have proably explored this avenue. The main thing that affects my car (and from others posts) that causes the rear to hop / tramline / wobble is the tyre pressure. The rears should be 36 P.S.I.

Even when my shocks were worn out I didn't get tramlining or wobble as bad as when the tye pressures are low.

Really? Mine are alot lower and my back end jumps around alot, do you know what the fronts are supposed to be? (Standard spec)

The fronts should be 33.

The rear wobbles so bad that even the Missus mentioned it when she drove it. "There's something wrong with the car it wobbles all over the place".

Might be worth checking the HICAS arms and / or ball joints aren't loose, this gives some free play on the rear wheels that you can feel if you jack it up and try to move the wheel side to side. Exactly the same as a worn track rod end on the front.

I've got one of the ball joints away on mine, but haven't got a new one yet so don't know how hard it is to change.
