whats the best size speaker to put in the rears, i gather that the 6 x 4 are hard to replace/find, would like a set of 6 x 9s to add some bass fill, and dont fancy the hassle of base boxes/tubes, are the 6x9's easy to fit,

recommendations experiences welcome.

7X5 3 way Kenwoods did it for me. Had to redrill some fixing holes and make up a rubber gasket to seal the fit properly. I dont think you have any chance of 6X9s in the standard housings

Willie0 - that sounds good to me also,

How much did you pay the Kenwoods?

Did you do anything with the fronts, which are not too bad I suppose.

6x9's is not a problem - you need to be creative though ... I had to bash down the metal cover below the speaker so as to make it fit (Alpine 6x9's are notoriously deep) and drill some new fixing holes. Took me longer to take all the trim bits off than to fit the speakers though.

I'll be fitting Kenwood 6x9's in the standard pods on Sunday with the help of a friend ;)

I know that the bracket will need some modification but I don't think it will be too hard.

I'll take some pictures and update my web site in the evening. Check my site on Monday to see how we got on :) Should have my Carbon fibre Interior section up as well by then.
