Dose anyone know where I can get a good set of lowering springs :D

Featured Replies

The way the Zed handles standard is good enough and besides with a decent sized set of rims you'll have no space for lowering!

If the handling is a bit off, get the dampers and front tension rod bushes replaced...lowering springs seem a bit pointless then IMHO

How the heck can you make a Z lower?? mines stock and it almost drags its belly on the ground:confused:

Also are J specs and uk ones the same ride height?? cos i always think the uk ones look higher? (stock for stock that is).

UK spec cars are higher at the ar5e end mate.

Contact GPS for the best deal for lowering springs. Blitz are very good.

Johnny or Latz on 01942 671239 ;)

Be happy! :D

Although the Blitz springs are very good, they actually made my car slightly higher than with stock springs on my J spec.

I fitted the Blitz ones too, they are just the right hight IMHO.

Thanks for your help guys think i my have found some a bit pricey at £170 for 4 . but i am told they level up the car and drop it by 30mm. and yes you can lower a Z my mate brought back some picks of some lowered jap Z Look the dogs bol**ks, but you need to be very cairfull.

All the best Sid

:D

I used AVO springs to lower mine, take a look and if you like the height and stance then I'll go into more details about where I got them and for how much etc. They were very reasonably priced!

(just getting trumpet out) Jeff @ Zedworld fitted them for me and said they made the car sit the nicest he'd seen a Z sit and I guess he's fitted a few.

Blitz springs lower the car less at the front and more at the rear. Jap spec cars seem to come with an even height as stock. That would explain why the Blitz springs made your Jap car look higher I imagine.

Me and AndyP had our cars parked side by side a while back. His Jap spec car was more level and a huge amount lower at the ar5e end than mine. UK cars seem to be jacked up looking at the back for some strange and unknown reason.

I need to lower mine at the back end, since having the wide arch kit fitted it makes the back end look awful. Too high! Like Senna-nem! ROFL :D

mine is a jap import and is hi at the back so it may not just be uk cars! :D

if any one is interested i have a set of second hand lowering springs.....don't know what make as they came from japan....make me an offer....£;) they are just taking up space..

OK, well maybe AndyP had a full tank of gas and a boot full of shopping at the time and I didn't! ROFL :D

You can always get a set of coilovers, then you can adjust the ride height to your heart's content. And the damping (bump / rebound) too. That way you're only a few minutes away from putting it back to a standard ride height rather than having to physically change the spring. It's next on my list (along with brakes) as my dampers are knackered. Tein do a set for the 300zx, and can be ordered from http://www.300zxstore.com/suspension.html

Not cheap though, about $1320 plus shipping. Don't know how much the standard ones are. They come with droop springs and adjuster spanners too.

Not meaning to be a Terry Fcukwit over this, but how do these coilover adjustable jobbies work?

I was intrigued by these. Demon Twonks sell 'em and I think HKS do some aswell.

When I was up at Peters at PPS to drop my car off there was a lad there with a Golf and he had adjustable suspension on. Was slammed right to the floor but he said that he could make the car higher in an instant.

Is it a case of getting the wheels off and messing around big time with a spanner?

How do you know that you've got each corner the same?

Reason for me being so interested is that I got shot of me Blitz springs to Le Big Mac as the entrance to my drive over the pavement is a little steap so I assumed that if I fitted the Blitz springs my front end would scrape going in and out! Ohhhh errrrrr Mrs.

Yep, they work same as a race car spring damper set up. The coil sits over the body of the damper on a platform. The damper body is threaded so you can wind the platform up and down. You can initially set up the springs/dampers with a tape measure, setting all the platforms (across each axle) the same height. Then once they are on the car, to adjust, just take the wheel off (may not have too on the front with enough steering lock on) and wind the platforms up or down with the spanner. The droop springs are very weak springs which compress to coilbound with the car weight on them, but will stop the springs rattling around when the wheel leave the road on a jack (or over a bridge... )
