It usually takes me an hour to drive home M11, M25, A1.

Last night I left work at just before 4pm as usual and got home at 1:15 am. That's 9 hours and 20 minutes.

An absolute disgrace!

I suppose that all of the gritting lorries must have been stuck in a traffic jam or were gritting the roads between the Civic Centre and the Council members homes, because in a 40 mile 9+ hour journey, I did not see any.

I know its a friggin joke, 70 mile journey on compressed snow is not fun.

Mind you I did see one grit lorry! Oh and it was empty!!! FFS

I suppose I dont pay enough Council Tax £1,700 per year!

If we cant handle a bit of snow, god help us if war breaks out!

Glad you got home eventually - according to the news, there are still some people stuck out there.

Also - again from the Beeb, the Bedfordshire gritters were ready to roll at 4pm but were sent home by the council to come back later. Apparently it's cheaper to grit at night. But by the time they were called back in again, most of them were stuck in traffic jams still trying to get home.

So if you live in Bedfordshire or got stuck in the M11 fiasco you can rant at http://www.bedfordshire.gov.uk/

Hmmm, well I never got home - car is still abandoned on someones drive in a remote Essex village ! :(

Back a work in yesterdays clothes ...

Here in Worcester....not a bally snowflake in sight...not a one.... and none in Redditch either.

But at home....blizzards and stuck lorries and cars not going anywhere...

Unfair!! If I was down there, I wouldn't have to be at work today!

:D

Same on the Isle of Wight, no snow ever settles... strange..

A guy called radio five-live and said that he had to drive miles to pick up his wife stuck in a drift on the outskirts of London, poor woman had been stuck for 24hours and after 8 hours her petrol ran out... brrr very cold indeed.

When the fella went back next day to pick up the car, guess what? - traffic wardens in pairs going along putting parking tickets on all the abandoned cars:rolleyes:  WTF??

What a wierd sense of duty the local authorities seem to have:mad:

Here in the North West, it snowed for about an hour last night but it didnt really stick. After that it rained and washed it all away. Its been a nice day today really.

We where stuck on the M6 for 7 hours years ago, probably 15 years ago. When we got home you could see our Gold Capri in the news shot. Hehehehe.
