I am looking into buying a 91 300ZX TT Auto Import. I am going for a test drive at the weekend (weather permitting) and wanted to get some advice from people that have been there before. I am aware of the usual checks you carry out on any used car (and this is obviously not 'any' used car). What I wanted is some 1st hand advice. When you bought your cars what did you wish you had checked? What things should I look for? etc etc etc. Don't want to buy a pony now do I! Cheers all

Hi Dan,

where in Surrey are you, might be able to meet up,give you a hand etc.:D

Cheers,

F.T.

I saw just today on Zedworlds site (see LINKS top right) a buying guide, questions you should ask etc, so check that out and I'm sure there is another one knocking around, try a search on it. z32.org maybe?

Where abouts in Surrey are you? The best bit of advice I would give is if you're not sure about anything-then walk away, be patient and the right one will turn up!

In true TT.net style 'search is your friend'

Seriously, have a go with the search button up in the top right hand corner.

Welcome to the forum btw, good luck at the weekend, if this is the first one you're going to see, do not fall in love with it - you need to see a few to see the differences and find a good 'un.

Hi everyone

I am looking for a 300zx as well. Actually thats how I ended up here while surfing the net to get some info.

I need to get info on the different engines sizes , BHP , models available. I know there are Non turbo and TT ones. Is the non turbo much slower?

Can someone help me with a site where I can get the tech spec of all the models since 90 ?

Whats the petrol consumtion like on a TT , city driving?

:D

Been to look at a few. Found some complete states but this one is really clean. Good bodywork but spoilers knackered so that will need replacing. 62k miles seems genuine, cam done 3k ago, new engine mounts, new windscreen (not due to accident). Interior is excellent bar peeling dash syndrome (seen how to fix that). My dad knows the guy selling so I think I can trust him (genuine reason for sale etc).

£4200 Seems reasonable, waddya think?

I live near Epsom.

And there are buyers guides and model differences on http://www.300zx.org.uk from AndyP which is why we don't have them here. No point in re-inventing the wheel! :)

Now there you go - some sweetly reasonable comments and advice. Not a bad article at all, IMHO.

Good one, AndyP. Cheers - Gio

Dan

I live in Woking and am happy to take a look. I have a '90 UK auto tt and have had it for three years, so soem experience, but nearly all good!

You can email me via my profile.

Fat Tony - I notice you are in Hampshire. The Z I will be looking at is also in Hampshire (Medstead). If you fancy giving me a hand and taking a look at it with me then great. The plan was for Saturday morning. Let me know.

Cheers,

Dan:)

Dan,

I'd love to come and give you a hand, but unfortunately with my stupid job,I'm working on Sat and Sunday.

Give me another day and I'll try and change my shifts around.

Cheers,

F.T.

That's a shame. If things change then I will be in touch. Thanks anyway m8y.:)

Heres a good money saving tip, these seven words are worth a fortune "Whats the lowest you'll take for it?"

If a cars up for £4995 and you say this you'll be suprised just how many mugs will say their rock bottom price, at the very least most say a lower price, thus you have a lower figure to bargain with!!

Sounds a bit rude saying it, but it works.;)
