Has any one ever seen it?

I know a few months ago I said that it was crap, in a thread that Nelson started. But I must say now that's one of the funniest things I have ever seen.

Does any one else watch it? I think that you have to have worked in an office like that to appretiate that there are people like that in the work place in real life.

Yeah me too, hilarious :D :D :D !!

Got an mpg of the David Brent dance if anyone knows how I can attach/post/host it? Its too big to simply attach

Pete

Yes, it's classic comedy. At first I wasn't sure I liked it, but once you know the characters, it's hilarious. ;) :D

"Get the guitar"

"because I don't agree with that in the workplace !!"

"one up the bum- no harm done !!"

"while you're down there luv":D :D

I must admit, I hate it with a passion.

Mike

LOVE IT! Although I do have to watch it with the remote in hand, so I can change channel when it gets toooooooo embarassing.

I've worked in too many offices and met too many 'David Brents'. It makes my toes curl sometimes, but it is so true to what frequently goes on!

My former boss was Brentesque. He had a big ego and lorded it over people, patronising and upsetting everyone, and basically being a big ***/**** !!

He thought he was funny as well, but his jokes went down like turds in a swimming pool. It was hard to have pity for him because he was always trying to make himself look good at the expense of everyone else; and he did some really nasty things. People like that have something missing IMHO.

It's a poor reflection on people in general that those kinds of people can get in positions of authority. Perhaps it is also a result of company structures/rules that these people thrive on.

Like a comedy without the humour!

Just couldn't get into it, and yes I watched a few episodes.

Have you had a sense of humour bypass ?? Can't you see the jokes ? I cannot undertsand how anyone could not find it funny.

However...

I think Ab Fab is shyte with a capital S, and it never made me laugh at all. But humorous women are rather thin on the ground ;)

No mate, I haven't had a bypass, I know that your posts are always good for a laugh! :D

I don't find it funny becuase it isn't, but then again I also think that Eminem is a total twat, which rather strangely seems to go against the populus!

I actually think his early music was very funny, cool, radical and brave. I don't know him personally, but he doesn't annoy me. I'd call it intelligent rebellion. Unlike many other acts, who think it's cool to simply act aggressively and obnoxiously just because you're in a priveleged position (Liam Gallagher anyone ?). Yes, let's trash hotel rooms for no reason, because it's cool and "what rock start do" !! Somehow when you're doing it for it effect it "means less" ;) :D I do think Eminem goes a bit too far sometimes with his lyrics.

Make it real - "don't think, FEEL!" - who said that ??

Eminems lyrics ar great, i don't know why people dislike him really, he justs says what he thinks

I agree.

His songs are really good. Some are boring and most sound the same after a while.

I like it when he brings out a song which people say shouldnt be released cos of the content and then later brings out one which calls all the people who do what he said in the song.

I cant remember the exact songs or words but on is "Stan" when he writes back saying

"I say those things just messing around, com'on how f***ed up are you."

That is not just the only example, its just that I dont know them off my heart.

I think he is very clever the way he does stuff. In all his interviews he seems inteligent and doesnt fly off the handle, like I have seen other so called "Nicer" music artists do. But in his music he makes himself out to be completely different.

Its not his fault that there are loads of pathetic stupid twits out there who think that cos he raps about it its OK to do it.

Yep 'The Office' is brilliant and I'm a big fan of Ricky Gervaise,he just cracks me up.

I thought you'd have liked him Mike,being as he's a Whitley boy!

Cheers

F.T.

Eminem is the biggest pile of $hit ever to make 'Music'?

YES to that one.

Mike :D

Eminem is too clever with his lyrics, becasue it seems that few people who like his stuff actually understand it, and those that don't approve of it, don't listen to the lyrics or don't understand tham, and hence think he's a bad influence.

The ironic thing is that he is mocking the attitude of people who criticise him, and he's recognising the desperation of his/the situation. He should be a role model in one sense - for honesty and justice. Also, a lot of yobs who like his music are probably people who take away from society and think his music is rebellious in a "fook it"/mindless way.

His music sounds like it's for the yobbos, but is not ! Could be a case of very shrewd marketing - a bit like "We don't need no education" by Pink Floyd - which, rather than a plea for NO education, was a plea for BETTER education/society. But how many kids understood that ?

Oh the irony of it all !! :D

Love 'The Office'........but I've hardly met a soul who DOESN'T work in an office that even watches it.

Personally I think it is some of the best observational comedy ever...it will be interesting to see what he does next.

Eminem? Precious little to do with music but a hell of a lot to do with marketing.........
