anyone know the best stuff for making the seals around the windows look black again? when the cars been polished the seals look grey against the black paintwork! im thinking aoutoglym vinyl/rubber stuff but dont want to get this if its just one of those silicon sprays...

also, my rear nearside fog light hasnmt been working (UK spec) so i had a look today to change the bulb and its not even wired up!! the other one works fine but with this one when you undo the 2 screws the whole assembly just pulls out ! and there are no wires visible the otrher side. why would this be? anyone else had similar problems?

also my horn sounds ridiculous (like a goose) anyone else had this problem? is it standard?

cheers

I've seen on one of the other sites an article where they show you how to clean your car properly(i.e. ready for a show).

I cant remember where it was,but anyway they recommend a black wax(shoe polish)to do the black rubber trim.

Cheers,

F.T.

Looks like turning the seals black again has been covered (though I never had a problem with back to black on my last car, I haven't used it on the Z).

The fog lamp is erm.. completely normal! UK cars only have an offside fog, the nearside - like most 90's UK cars - is just a blank..

I imagine that on the continent it's the other way around..

The horn - mine sounds ok, so they're obviously not meant to be totally weedy.. Might be worth cleaning up the connections on the sounder. I can't remember if it grounds via the chassis or a wire though. Failing that, I guess the sounder is just going off, maybe a new (secondhand) one would make it sound better..

When i first had my car i was showing a mate along a country road, when some pr1ck in a BMW was driving along not looking where he was going and ended up on the wrong side of the road coming straight towards me. After poopping myself I tried pressing the horn, this was the first time i had used it and found out how crp it was. Luckily he woke up and swerved out of my way, just making me touch the grass verge.

Anyway the moral of the story is when I was going to check the horn it was half fallen off creating a pathetic drone, but even when it was fixed it was still almost as bad. Buy an air horn!;)
