Is my car getting slower?

I know that we all start to think it after owning a Z for a while, but how do we know if its just us getting used to it or if something is wrong and it is getting slower?

 

Today went for a fast spin round some country roads, and it just didnt seem fast. The traction control popped a few times, quite a lot when I went over a big pile of mud in the road left by a tractor.

But overall the pace seemed very laid back.

 

How can we really tell if its just us getting used to it, or if there is something wrong with the car and its not running as well?

 

Is there anything basic I can check?

    Hire a Corsa for a week, painful I know, but do it anyway...then hand the Corsa back and jump in the Z! Jobs a goodun!!! :D
