Hi when  welding  the bottom corner  rear were  bumper bolts to also  rear arch  by petrol cap do uses remove petrol tank  as I was going to sheld it with a piece of pry wood an wrap a wet cloth  around  petrol filler neck  thanks 

Remove the tank and filler neck completely, the neck of the tank goes porous over time and the vapour seeps regardless, stating the obvious ,  1 spark with the tank in place hitting vapour or igniting fuel will remove the side of your house.

The risk is NOT worth the time saved to remove the tank.

My view anyway,
