Hi,

I am sure I heard on TT.net that there was a difference in PTU's between the different models!

Did this apply to the UK models or just the USA recall on the Series I PTU's?

Apologies Tim!

I have sent you off on the wrong tangent!

I meant to say did the Jap Import models have a seriesII PTU change as well?

I blame it on a bottle of Californian Ironstone Red!!!!!!!!11

LOL :D

Not sure mate, AndyP is probably the best person to ask on that score.

I originally posted about ECU's so I don't hold that against you bud. :D

My Series II had the same early PTU. Can't remember exactly, but I think the official PTU change was much later, something like 94.

Would have to check the parts CD to be certain and don't have time right now.

Just changed PTU on my 90 jap spec. Was a Hitachi (silver metal body with fins) and is now replaced by a mitsibushi (black box).

Bought from courtesy nissan who list it as suitable for 90-96 models. No differentiation for year ot spec therefore.

Hope it helps.

Just looked this up on the Jap spec FAST cd and it looks like the original PTU was used between 89/07 - 93/07, then it's the modified one from 93/07 onwards.

Interestingly, there also seem to be additional changes at 97/01 and 98/10 !

the modified part isnt available in the uk, i gave my nelson dealer the part no & it doesnt exist over here!
