I had to borrow the wife’s car a few days ago. As soon as I set off I noticed the brake pad warning light was on and a horrible rumble when applying the brakes.
I remembered that the MOT, which was about a month ago, had advised that the disc needed to be changed but the pads still had some meat on them (not that I would have kept the pad when changing the discs).
I went out and set about replacing the discs and was horrified to find this...
I also wanted to change the anti-roll bar linkage. The near side came off easy enough (which was the side that got flagged as having slight play in it on the mot) but the off side has proven to be a pig. The allan key hole has rounded as the nut has seized. So I’m planning on grinding a slot for a screw driver to sit in and try the nut again unless anyone has another method to try first?
