Sold my MR2 turbo and pick up my new Z on Sunday.

Yipee

Z is from a dealer and has 2 faults: gurgling noise from

front wing behind dash on idle and slight rumble noise from

rear drive shaft area at 4000rpm (noise only lasts a couple of seconds) Dealer says he will try to fix but cant be sure whether

the faults can be located.

Other than that the car is beautifull: Cherry Red, 5 spoke split rim alloys, tinted glass, full leather just in from Japan with 40000 miles

If he cant fix the faults should I go ahead - the car drives really well - seems a lot faster than the MR2 Turbo

Also the A/t light on dash doesnt work

Car is 1991 H reg at £4500:rolleyes:

Gurgle isn't a big deal but the rumble could be. I would recommend you insist on that one.

And if you do a search on gurgle, you'll find the instructions for fixing it and can give them to the dealer !

Good luck

if an import, I reckon it should be a bit cheaper - offer £4k. All car prices have come down and it is a J - is the mileage GENUINE ??

Age of the car counts against it big time wrt price, irrespective of low mileage. 300's can hang around - they are a niche buy, so HAGGLE. It may look the dogs, but whta's the condition of the engine ??

Have to disgree with Nelson, price, from a dealer, sounds fair to me.

Get the rumble sorted or use it a bargaining tool - the Zed can be very reliable but if something big goes wrong it can be expensive. I'd be wary of the A/T light not working, it might just be a bulb, but it could equally, be something more sinister. You could ask the dealer to take it to Nissan for a diagnosis using their 'Consult' (Diag tool).

If it's a fresh import, any service history? What about guarantee? As a dealer he has to offer limited guarantee.

Try and get someone to go have a look at it with you from here.

I see you are in Ipswich. If you want the benefit of my 3yrs ownership knowledge, just email me. I'm in Ipswich too, but mines an NA. Done everything myself, so might be able to help. Which dealer are you getting it from?
