Hey all, a little summary...

Well I've had my zed a week now, and I'm still grinning :D . Beautiful car, comfortable, phenomenal acceleration but v quiet and smooth.

Before yesterday I'd only driven in the rain and wet, so have been v careful around bends, roundabouts etc. In the dry the car feels v different, it really grips the roads and gives you confidence round bends I've never had before. The dry has let me test the acceleration from 1st gear - WOW! , in the wet the wheels span  when I tried.

Still getting used to the looks from EVERYBODY, at petrol stations (3 visits  ) especially. Only this morning a group of kids stopped and stared and a couple went "Whoa!" Felt good!

Had a little leak near the front of the drivers door during the really big downpour the other day, might have to get the peanut butter out :D , and when I open the boot when wet, water drips onto the back seats from the far left. Anyone had this?

All in all a great week, anyone want to buy a Mondeo ;) ?

Cheers

Pete

The drips on the back seat, is it coming from the inside of the boot or is it water that drips off from the outside into the car?

I know what you mean about the acceleration first day I got my car I floored it in 1st, my belly went backwards. :D

Now it seems really slow.

The drips come from the inside top left, where the two black interior pieces meet.

Suppose you get used to the acceleration, I'm still in the scared but loving it stage! Mind you since I've filled up a couple of times, you're mind turns to driving slow to reduce MPG.

Oh yeah - another thing - when filling up the pump constantly clicks off like the tank's full. I have to squeeze really lightly to stop this, then it takes ages  . Is this an import-filler problem?

Cheers

pete petrol pump happens to us all, when you put the pump in turn the handle clockwise a bout 45 degrees and push down on the pump,

or you can use optimax pumps, they are a bit better :)

my car seems to get optimum MPG at 90mph ;)

Re your leak, check the rubber grommet/seal around the wiper arm and also the jet at the top where it goes through the glass, both of these were leaking on mine when I first got it.

I removed both bedded them back in suitable auto sealant and no leaks since.

Pete, the water in boot is caused when you lift up rear when its been raining, never goes down the channels properly, cant handle to much rain water flooding off the bootlid,it does not actually leak water in when its shut, you,ll get used to it,its a right pain, glad to see you enjoying it,and i told you you would become a frequent visitor to ESSO,ha,ha,by the way if you want to have a run out and get some Optimax at the same time theres a Shell garage in Dunchurch only 10 mins away, usedto go there about once a week to fill up if i had the cash,i will pop round soon anyway, maybe this weekend, cheers ,Tony;)

I still grin every time I get in my Z after 3 years.

You do get used to the power and start to want more but with a few mods and 400bhp it starts to get to the point where you can't keep your foot to the floor for more than a few seconds and everything else is left far behind!

Even now with a knackered gearbox with only 1st and 2nd I can get up to 70 ish damn quick on 1 bar of boost :D
