Whose got an SE exhaust?

 

What do you think of it? I am thinking of having one with the additional centre silencers to keep the noise down (replacing my existing scorpion cat back) but it's mucho pesetas.

 

Is there anyone else who makes a SS exhaust (2.5in) with centre silencers, pref straight thru type with mufflers, not too loud. My Z is already decatted (SE downpipes), with larger turbos so noise is up on std.

 

Powerflow only go up to 2.25 inch I think? Scorpion, mongoose and others do not do a straight thru muffler or centre silencers.

 

Can it be more expensive to make a straight thru xorst with mufflers rather than the baffle type?

Hi I have the SE exhaust from the block back with decat pipes. Initially I fitted the straight through centre section without silencer but found it too loud in town driving, also the noise it made was a constant drone which became irritating after a time.

I swapped the centre pipe for the silenced version but I had a problem when the welds on the silencer box gave way after a month because there was too much movement in the sides of the silencer wall. They made a flexing noise like buckling a tin can. Spoke to SE about it and because I am outside the UK they wanted me to send pictures etc to prove it had not been grounded. In the mean time a mate told me he would fix the problem and welded a further stainless steel steel outer skin around the silencer which has done the job and cost £20. The exhaust now is a little louder than stock, sounds great and should last the life of the car.

Try top gear they make custom SS exhausts. Full system £550 all in including de-cat pipes they will make it as load or quiet as you like.

The Powerflow near me, you can specify diameter of s/s......then they specify the size of your bank balance.........but still reasonable imho.

Call Johnny at Grasshopper for a great deal on a custom exhaust in stainless. Mine is more or less straight through with hardly any baffles in the back boxes so it's very loud but they can make them up to your specification.

It is adjustable for length and sideways reach with removable trim on the back boxes so I can change the style of them if I feel like it!

I paid about £400 not including the de-cat pipes.

Yea tell me about it LOL,It is like a fookin F16 with afterburners on full:D

I can reckon on setting off at least half a dozen car alarms on a journey.

Hmmm, I know your zorst is very loud but I reckons that your 600 decibel dump valves may also have something to do with it !! ;)

I had the same problem Wads had - the drone really did your head in! I got round it by using exaust rap round the downpipes. I'ts amazing the difference it made (it's also supposed to increase power but I can't say I noticed)
