going by the service manual, you need to undo quite a lot to be able to remove the oil pan first Tony.

I do have the workshop manual in the car, it’s not very helpful with instructions only ever look at the pictures.

For the amount of work involved if you tried to do it in situ it would be quicker to pull the engine being honest.Removing the sump alone is a task in itself and working on the floor it would be horrific.
