This is for all you manual or (stick for you yanks) boys and girls out there.

I can confirm that if you are experiencing clutch slip due to power increase mods(I am currently at Stage III), adjusting you clutch does have a positive affect and will give you a few more months of pleasure before having to fork out a wedge of cash on you upgrade.

However, don't be a silly ninny like me and adjust it the wrong way and end up in a car park at 7am correcting the mistake. D'oh.

Advice. Making the adjustment is very easy, however, most of the tech articles talk about turning the spindle clockwise or anti-clock wise. However, due to the fact that you are in a, on-your-back_arms-all-over-the-place_manuver, its hard to tell which way clockwise or anti-clock wise is.

Therefore, to make it easier for you, to bring the clutch bike closer to the floor, reduce the thread between the jam nut and the rubber boot that connects to the firewall. Thats as easy as I can make it for you.

Have fun.

Clockwise is always clockwise whether you are upside down or right way up.

Thanks for that anyways ;)

Maybe it is, but it does depend upon which end of the thread you are looking at !

and the contortions you have to perform to get to the position of being able to adjust it mean that you lose all sense of direction, balance and even purpose.. ;)

i think you just adjust it closer to the front of the car

I agree with Andy.

Clockwise is always clockwise but only if you are facing the bolt or screw otherwise clockwise becomes anticlockwise.

Easy way to do it is imagine you are putting the lid on a coffee jar ;) always works for me....

Well if it was the other way he would be in the engine bay with him gaining access through the bulk head ;)

I remember

lefty loosy

Righty Tighty

but.................................

if you are on the floor, and are only able to see the thread with your left eye, because the pedals stick out too far for you to be able to get your right eye in the line of vision, and you are looking up at the thread, sideways, whilst trying to negotiate your left arm under the pedals, hold a torch with your right hand and try not to drop a set of plyers in to your face.................coupled with trying to edge one butt cheek on the sill and one on the seat and keep from breaking your back........................................................................................................................................................................................But apart from that, it was piss easy.

N.B. Also, it doesn't help if you are a bit of a fat knacker like me.

I called Nissan and spoke to the workshop manager. He said the best way to do it was to turn in any direction with an adjustable screwdriver till it's tight, and then make sure it's in there securely by using a hammer.

HTH:D

Been there done that, next time I'm going to try using a mirror !

Failing all that, get hold of the clutch pedal with your left hand whilst driving at full throttle and pull the clutch pedal up towards you as hard as you can:D This used to work on my old Ford Capri anyway. :p

Glenn

yeah its a bitch doing anything down there lol :D All I was doing was moving some dangling eletrical gadget (dont know what it was ;)) out of the way and i half crippled my back :D

Now you are confusing things. People are confused which way to turn it when they are upside down, putting a mirror into the equasion will make it worse.
