Hi all,

I'm new to the forums but have recently bought an '88 na Z31. It came without any history but was a car I'd been after for a while so I've been working (and spending) hard to get the oil, filters and timing belt done.

My most urgent problem now is that the center silencer is blowing so bad that the exhaust sounds straight through. I know people like their shiny stainless exhausts but I really want to stay standard. The rest of the system looks ok.

So my question is...does anyone have a center silencer going or know where I can get hold of one? Research tells me Mike from MJP might be worth asking.

Cheers

Thanks, will try phoning him again tomorrow! Not sure if this link will work but here's the car and the hound...

Just an update on this. Spoke to Mike and no center box availability unfortunately. I went to a local garage and had the old box cut out and some new pipe welded in. Was worried about the noise increase without the box but it's not intrusive at all and I'd say the back box is maybe a tad more raspy but it sounds great. A good interim fix whilst I work out what sort of long term replacement I want.

Thanks for the heads up. I would be interested in the center box and backbox if they're in good condition and you can get to them and bonnet struts if yours work

Cheers,

Reg
