Hi Guys

I am trying to fit aftermarket steering wheels to 2 Z's one I have completed and the other I am struggling with.

Both are are fitted with OE Airbag Steering wheels but the wiring and the Airbag are totally different I have used the search on here but can not find any details so apologies if all this has been covered before.

The following Photo's are from the 1994 car with no hicas and drivers only Airbag RIMG0587.jpg After much testing & faffing about these are the connections that need to be made for the Airbag Light to extinguish (Red wire Loop) and the connection for the Horn button (Green Wire)

The Following Photo's are from the 1992 Convertible with no hicas and drivers only Airbag RIMG0577.jpg Back of Airbag

I will have to post the rest of the photo's for the 1992 Car in the next post as I am on my limit for this post, if interested please scroll down

My Question is does anyone know which wires to link to prevent the Airbag Light coming on and if it requires a resistor fitted in line as this is so different to the wiring on the 1994 Car also which wire goes to the Horn Button so it will be Earthed when the Horn Button is depressed

Be Grateful if anyone has done the Aftermarket Wheel conversion on the Vert type wheel and can help me out, Hopefully the info for the 1994 Car will save someone a bit of investigation time

All the Best

Marc

After years of trying to reinstate the 1994 airbag after a previous owner removed/butchered wires, you're doing it the other way, it's each to their own but I wouldn't.

Anyway, you've sorted the 1994 and you're having trouble with the ribbon type connectors from the vert 1992 ?

One ribbon is the horn connection and other is the airbag connector.

You can buy an airbag tester simulator type resistor diagnostic thingy for a few pounds.

Thanks for the reply, I know a lot of people don't approve of removing the OE steering wheel but I am leaving everything in tact and not modifying the wiring as such so the OE wheels can be reinstated should a subsequent owner wish to do so (that's if I ever sell them which is unlikely)

Where would I be able to get a "airbag tester simulator type resistor diagnostic thingy" especially if it's only a few pounds
