MOT Pointers?

Z will be up for an MOT soon, just wondering what i should look out for, what do they sometimes fail on?

Are emmisions a common problem?

The car is standard (UK) apart from exhaust, but the cats are still on.

Be nice to know what to look for to try an get it sorted before its done.

the zed is tested as a non cat car, so emissions should not be a problem unless you have major problem!

Really ? Even a UK Zed ???

Sorry about hi-jacking this thread, but...

Can anyone recommend a garage that's MOT approved but also knows a bit about our cars (preferably in the south east) My MOT's due in May and I'm already getting the collywobbles about sending it to Nissan or to someone who will find something wrong but have no idea how to fix it...

yeah, they are not in the emissions database so are therefore tested as a non cat car, uk or import. (unless your lucky enough to have a 95 on model, then they are subject to a default cat test)

Make sure you've got a rear fog light - req. legally. 1st MOT it passed without - dodgy place, 2nd year mot failed & I had to put one on - my mechanic took two of the reverse lights and converted them to fogs!
