'93 N/A Manual Import - £SOLD

Time to move on to pastures new. (namely diesel land)

Finances have forced the purchase of a more economical car and regretfully I must sell up.

I have owned the car for 8 years and have used it daily

11 Months MOT; The last MOT just required brake pads and 2 new tyres.

I bought it at 67K miles and currently it stands at 99,900. (You can have the pleasure of watching it tick round yourself).

It is worth noting that the gearknob and the 'always cracked pods' have all been replaced with new OEM ones, and the dash surround is in good condition and also has the clips.

It is not a show-winning car, and I think is priced accordingly.

Standard with a few exceptions:

• Remote central locking

• Cone type air filter

• '99 spec style rear lights

• Bilstein front suspension

• PTU upgraded to a series 2

• Dashcam (hardwired)

• Fibreglass replacement spoiler

• CD Changer

• Hidden USB port in centre console (was used to plug in a laptop for diagnostics, but could be repurposed for phone changing.

• Diagnostic mode accessible on the press of an unused button on the right hand pod. USB Diagnostic cable comes with the car.

The bad bits:

• Some rust on wheel arches: (see pics) Has never been a problem for a MOT

• Paint showing age in places: Front offside wing and patches on the bonnet have lacquer peel

• ECU throws code 34. Detonation sensor circuit: (Engine is not actually detonating, just the sensor/circuit)

• ABS light occasionally comes on at the start of a journey (1 in 4 times roughly): The ABS ECU says the rear wheel speed sensor is at fault. The ABS does work and has passed all MOTs like this.

• Crusty bit on back seat where something has spilled (from before I bought it)

• Rear window has a scrape on the inside

• Front bumper could be fitted better.

• Gearbox can cruch if doing a quick 1st to 2nd shift

• some drops of oil have been seen where i have parked, unknown source at this time having only recently discovered this.

Hello, i am very interested. I just need to convince my second half that i need another zed. How bad is the rust underneath, if any? Is the engine running strong?

  • Author

The engine is still strong. Only engine problems I have had are the standard series 1 PTU failing issue and one duff injector. Both now replaced.

Oil changed only a few hundred miles ago.

2 pics from the right and left rear looking forward.

The jacking points, where it has been improperly jacked by garages, shows some rust, but is not widespread.

Everywhere else underneath is good.

Aorry missus says we have too many cars now. Looks an ok project tho but i think the rust might be worse than it looks.

Check your email. Missus approval now received.

Just to clarify, the det sensor code will be making a big difference to the way the car feels and drives as it retards the ignition, get a 1 meg ohm resister inserted, clear the code and will see, in fact a well sorted non turbo manual with the lower final drive ration can be real good fun and down the A roads and "lanes" as such can be close to a perfect balance.

Jeff

Just rejoined after years of missing out.

I am very interested too

Its ok..... I am looking for this type of car at around this price range.... I am sure I will find one hence coming back to my old haunt... congratulations on selling it though bud.

Thanks for the car. Got it home safely at 3am. Thankfully it was not cloudy and it was almost a full moon showing me the way. Those candles are realy dim at the front. Apart from that car drives great. Thank you!

P.S. Did all 400 miles on one tank and still have abit left :) reckon i got atleast 30mpg.
