This wanted thread is for new member Wobblie (Mal) he is not sure how to put a thread up so I have done it for him. This next paragraph is cut and pasted from his PM.

1991 300Zx, Import, N/Aspirated, Auto.....Mine has the twin senders in the Fuel Tank....I need the Drivers Side (off/side) sender, with a rubber seal (if possible) ? ....Can collect within a 100 mile area (roughly).

This z is I believe a swb but hopefully now that the thread is up Mal will post on it.

Hi Guys.....Wobblie (Mal) here.....Yep my car is a Short Wheelbase....I also need an interior light that fits between the T Roof Panels....Operated mine for the first time tonight....Got bits of plastic & a ball bearing for my expectation of it coming on !

May I ask how you know the sender has failed?

There may be a light available from this car:

Hi Guys....I Earthed the cable to the Fuel Gauge....It read "Full"

I assumed that the "sender" is faulty !!.........Mal T (WOBBLIE)

The interior light i still need.....how do we "normally " do these transactions (If the price is right ?).

Hi Slick Pete....Have I misread the exploded diagram of the Fuel Tank on my SWB car ?........Is there ONLY a sender in the R Hand side (Drivers side) of the tank !!!!!!!

Best Regards.........Mal T (WOBBLIE)

Andrew......MANY thanks for info AND diagrams.......Is the reason for two senders to eliminate fuel surge in the tank under sustained high "G" speed cornering.....Or is one for the needle reading & the other for the "Low Fuel" warning light.

I will fetch BOTH senders out & test them (thanks for your diagram again !).....Is the Variable Resistor a "sealed unit".....Or can I take it apart if it is "resting" ????

Best Regards........Mal T (WOBBLIE)

The shape of the tank in the 2+0 is effectively an inverted "U" so two senders are needed to measure the fuel level in each tub when

it drops below the middle section of the tank. There is nothing to stop the fuel sloshing from one side to the other on cornering.

Each sender measures the fuel level and the measurements are combined together for the fuel gauge. The "low fuel" warning

is a switch on the n/s sender unit. The senders look like this (the low fuel switch is the white tube in the left picture):

Hi Andrew.....Thanks SO much for your in depth reply......TOTALLY got the set up now !!

Will be "attacking" the situation with confidence !

Has ANYONE got these Senders for sale....(If I can't fix 'em) ??

In Anticipation........Mal T (WOBBLIE)

(the low fuel switch is the white tube in the left picture):

The switch in this case takes the form of a thermister which is housed in the white tube, these can be swapped out for a new one for about £20 - tell tale it's broke - your fuel symbol in the cluster does not illuminate (make sure you have a bulb fitted!), the trigger for this therefore..........the thermister becomes exposed to atmosphere when gas level drops.

Do you have a link for the replacement thermister Andy?
