hi guys so i have a whole lot of issues at the minute so please bare with me as this will be an essay:

so first off then a bit of back story in November of last year i upgraded to a nistune ecu and selin duel intake kit and it caused the car to run stupidly rich on boost below 10 on afr resulting in power loss and on top of that after every start up the car would fuel differently on cold start up to the point where the mapper would set up cold start get i t to where it was better then come back the next day and it would be well off again on top of this on the power runs the cigarette lighter would lose power and there was a electrical squeal picked up through the headphones while mapping, now i had none of these issues prior to going nistune and duel intake.

with me so far? ok so the logical step was to revert back to precious set up (single maf and previous map which ran great) we tried several different ecus combinations but even though being on the same map each behaved different on fueling for example my ecu and map was fine fueling where it always was but the map on the mappers personal nistune didnt fuel right now whats weird is when i originally had this map it was first mapped on his personal nistune then burned on to a chip then put into my socketed ecu so we were stumped why it didnt work.

i then took the car away and used it it idled from cold for a month fine but afr and afr on boost was good but i had a problem with it going lean on cruise after prolonged driving

, it was fine for say 45 mjnutes journey but anymore after that and is miss behaved and also had the cigarette lighter socketed continuously shutting off when coming on boost (checked for shorts to it couldn't find any) also i had noticed the voltage on my gauge when running was between 13.2-13.3 where it had been 14.1 when running before.

then the problems really started the car would overfuel on cold start and as soon as you tap the throttle it would overfuel to the point the car would almost cut up but once the car was driven and up to temp idle fuelling was fine and constant but was still is the issue of going lean on cruise plus now on boost in 3rd,4th,5th it would run 11.0-11.3 which it was mapped to on afr but in 2nd gear would be richer at 10.5-10.6 and i was advised if anything it should be cleaner in 2nd.

after a long discussion i was told it would need a new maf so i ordered a genuine one from z1 put it in and it made everything worse it would now overfuel on boost under 10.0 on afr and overfeul on cruise and cold start idle was worse so put the old maf back in, several people suggested the maf may have been on its way out when mapped and needing the map tweaking but after speaking to the tuner and considering i had a year of no problems on the map it simply couldnt be the case.

so to where i am now things have got worse its now any start up after leaving car to cool for say an hour it will overfuel when hitting throttle to move until fully up to temp, and now at the weekend it went to scary lean on idle and cruise 19.0 on afr so had to shut it off and leave the car as wasnt safe, i let it cool down and still running lean but if you tap throttle it went rich to 10.0.it still has the lower voltage when running at 13.2v but also has a slow starter like it gos to start then no noise then just burst in to life all in the turn of a key, yes battery was changed and still the same problem

so now i am completely stuck i just dont know where to begin or look i had a perfectly fine working car before trying to go nistune and since then its just gone downhill its taken me 5 years to get the car to this stage and ive still not properly used it i dont want to give up i want to sort it but my mapper is very distant and doesn't seem interested in sorting the problemso just looking for suggestions/advice and wether anyone has ever had a similar problem, hope you managed to stick through all the content and sorry for th essay lol

What’s your full spec? I had problems going to a nistune board, they are a bit naff 2bh. Mine wouldn’t start and was hunting on idle with and doing wierd things afr wise. I think it may be something to do with the permanent live to the fuel pump mod. Anyway I chased mine round and started changing loads of parts out to no avail. The only improvement I had was I gave it to a local auto electrician and he said it had an earth fault and got it to start. It’s better but still not 100% I bought an earthing kit but I haven’t got around to fitting it.

Well i ain't in a position to comment but wouldn't give up this far down the line... No disrespect to your tuner but seems your car needs to be in the hands of someone with more knowledge to put it right before moving up to the next stage if reading it correct. Good luck with it and hope you get it sorted sooner then later [emoji106]

Ruining 630bhp Full forged block nismo 740cc injectors 2.5" intercooler piping with ams side mounts full 3" ams/labree exhaust, apexi I take aeromotive fpr, walbro 340lp pump, devilsown water methanol kit and a load more stuff to breaks suspension ect,

quite a similar thing to you then I had to have fuel pump mod to so its on constant I did wonder if this had anything to do with it just seems since going nistune all my problems have started but since I reverted back to the old setup it's never been right and now got this latest issue

The tuner has been looking after my car for 5 years and never had a problem till now the map and setup I'm running on was the same one he mapped for me and I ran with with no problems for months it was o ly since going nistune problems happened so I reverted back to old setup thinking it would be OK but it's now not I did question wether something had gone wrong with the nistune as there was a fault fount with the feature pack after investigation maybe it caused a short somewhere just don't know what else to try and wether to just cut my losses and have it stripped for parts

I run Nistune, with zero problems, and a Selin, plus Meth, is your selin set at Average ?, also what is the alternator output when under load and when checked with a voltmeter ?, you are aware the drop in voltage will bugger around with the Injectors, I had exactly the same myself recently when my car was mapped, if you choose to rebuild your alternator to provide a constant voltage under load ,then let me know, I found a local company that served me very well indeed.

Not running the selin kit as removed the things that had issues the feature pack update in the nistune has been found to be corrupted they have now released a new update that supposed to stop the problem so now back on old setup, alternator was fine last time I checked I've been told as its only dropped 0.7 volts it shouldn't effect things like mags and injectors as there pretty robust, it was fine on full load and fuelling was constant never been lean now just over fuels and runs lean on idle and cruise, would you recommend swapping the alternator for a new one and try that? Really thought it would be the maf not reading right hense giving weird fuelling but that's been ruled out not sure what else could effect afrs so badly?

You can try my mafs if you wish. Personally I would have the alternator rebuilt and tested. My number if you to contact me is 07929 159828 I also have full nistune.

Thanks m8 I brought a brand new maf from z1 and that didn't work but I'm gonna take your advise and get the alternator rebuilt and see if it sorts the voltage and see if that sorts my problem appreciate your help :)

Hold on a mo. I have my old one here which you could get rebuilt. For a full monty job it cost 65 quid. All in cash. New stator rectifier etc etc
