for those with idle problems............

just a bit of info:

i had high idle speed, esp from cold.

done the usual. ie cleaned tb's & idle valve, reset ecu

checked tps - within spec

checked temp sensor & cleaned contacts - still the same.

when i pulled the boot off the back of the temp sensor connector, the rear of the terminals were corroded, though looking at the terminals in the plug end (where they connect) they seemed to be ok.

checked the resistance through the wiring & it was waaaaaaaay too high!

cut the connector off & crimped a couple of new connectors on & all seems ok now :)

Thanks Paul. I'll try this at the weekend. I'm idleing at about 1,000 at the moment, 2,000 in the cold. sometimes when I take my foot off the acelerator and put it on the brake the car actually tries to speed up because the idle is so dam fast :D

Mine sometimes idles at 1500rpm but not consistently and I've never noticed a pattern to it.

It's a real pain on an auto when you are almost pushed into the back of the car in front all the time and wear out brake pads at an increased rate.
