We have the ace Cafe booked for the 3rd of November for an end of year meet, again 11am till 4pm

 

I need make people aware the ace slots are very sort after, I think it's a good location for a meet and would like to continue however after our last turnout they have questioned if we can justify the booking, I have managed to hold onto Nov but if we can't get a good turnout it will probably be our last meet there,

No matter what the event or where it was i would not be able to attend anything in March or November as mine is a "summer " car only.

Whilst I do use mine all year round, it’s still weather dependent for me to use it (mainly determined by the application of salt). Recent years have shown the ice/salt to hold out until late November so the date arranged should be ok on that front, however the weather is just generally not kind at that time of the year; cold, wet and grim!

 

With the weather in the colder months and folk like Pete who only use their car during the Summer (most of whom only tax them for 6 months), it’s always going to be a struggle. I’m off on the 3rd so I’ll put my name down for a social in the Z with you guys but for future meets there, is it possible to secure a booking during the summer?

summer dates are motly booked up already with big clubs and events, but i doubt we would get one based on our previous turnouts anyway.

 

maybe try and tie up with some other car club or generic japanese csr event in that case

 

weather, salt, time of year etc are all valid concerns, but getting any dedicated venue is difficult in the summer months, and not many people want to attend some of the car shows, so its a bit of a juggle accommodatng everyone

As Craig says the prime summer slots are given to larger clubs,

Members are more than welcome to turn up in their daily drives if they'd prefer that time of year, we didn't turn the Aston away haha,

 

 

If we don't want to do Nov I can cancel it and look at somwhere else,
