Hey folks, so Im in the process of doing some works on the car i.e replacing subframes , brake lines etc. Im still trying to figure out what year the engine is , is there an easy way to tell? I also noted that there is a pipe(blocked off) out of the sump pan , which indicate that the engine might have been a turbo , but was not installed due to a lack of space in the MX5? Can anybody give me some insight. Also I need to replace the clutch slave cylinder as its seized, what is the part nr for this please? Ive seen some of fleeBay but not sure if its the correct one. Thanks.

If when you take the old one off you happen to be doing it on your back in a hotel car park, with the car half up a kerb for access. Be careful not to curiously examine the part in your hands... push the piston in... and fire brake fluid into your face out of the 'in' port.

I would imagine that would be possible... and I would imagine you would then have to run into the bar like a dickhead, vault over the bar between the till and the Guinness pump and plunge your brake fluidy face into the sink to clear your eyes out....

That Mx5 is nuts. That's the maddest MX5 swap I've seen in a while. What's the thinking behind the VG as an engine choice?

I can't take credit for the conversion or engine choice I'm afraid. I bought the coversion done already, but has been off the road for over a year when I got it. I am looking forward to getting it back on the road, I can just imagine the pull will be amazing....looking forward to miles or smiles....

Its using the original 300 gearbox, which is longer that the mx5 gearbox so cannot use the ppf from the mx5 to secure the diff in place. I making some videos of the progress im making on the car, I will post a link here...
