In the cold, does neone elses targa tops creak quite loudly ? when I hit a small bump in the road they can make a loud snapping noise like something has broken - weird !! I inspected them, and they look fine.

Also, I am plagued with condensation/water on the rear window. Not sure if the air con is working properly.:( I used to run the air con on economy, but have stopped this in order to hopefully get rid of the water. Economy is only for summer methinks !!

I always got the creaking too - I think that's fairly common.

I also had the condensation problem. That turned out to be a faulty seal on the rear wiper mechanism where it meets the bootlid. It had just gone hard.

Hope this helps.

The crack noise is just the ice braking with teh flex of the car. It will only need a small fraction of movement for the ice to brake. It probably keeps doing it becuase as soon as the car moves back the ice re-freezes back again.

I got the water problem too. I think its just air vapour. Cold air hold more water and when it touches the window it freezes. The reason it looks like there is more on the Z that others is it has more glass for the water to freeze on.

I have dried my window a few times with a shammy leather. It has helped a lot but it keeps coming back, but no where near as bad as before.

It is a problem. I am gonna keep my car running for a while with the heater on see if that clears it.

Tell you what I find.

Yeah-sometimes it sounds as if the whole car has just snapped in half! shows how much they flex about!

Look on the bright side and think how much fun you could be having with a convertible! Mate of mine had a 944 and it spent the whole winter with a wet interior and fully misted rear window.

:p

Makes you wonder if the handling would be even better with a hardtop though, if targas allow it to flex that much !
