I'm just after people's opinions on the rear of the blue car. It's one of the things I've remained unsure on. Initially, I was quite set on changing them to 99spec style light but Most bypassers locally seem to like the back lights on this better than the more traditional ones. So now I'm just not sure.

What do people think

It's not about what other people think mate, it's what you like that really matters.

If people liked you having a huge penis painted on the bonnet would you do that?

I know it's about what I like. But I'm after other people's opinions. For example I did a make my car look better post on my old car and got several great suggestions and the car ended up looking nicer in both their, and my opinions.

I didn't take on every suggestion but to me people's opinions do count to an extent and I do value people's opinions from the zedding world.

To be honest Lee i think it looks great just the way it is im not a fan of those lights usually as you know im 99 spec all the way but yours suit the car body style and the spoiler. Maybe a light tint to just calm the colours down a bit ???

If you like Plaxton Beavers and 90s caravans then I can see their appeal - other than that I think they look terrible.

If you're struck on keeping them however (which I sure as hell wouldn't), look at replacing them with the afterburner LED ones and paint that panel a very dark metallic gunmetal grey.

One thing to be aware of, to fit those rear panels and lights the light apertures have to be cut away and depending on how good this was done ( or not ) you may have trouble returning to normal lights without replacing be it in sections the rear panel.

toolboxtrev had that very same issue I think.

Maybe paint the panel gloss black ( by a body shop please ) and tint the lights, would give a cosmetic function to the panel, or leave it as is its what you like is important, saying that I find myself drawn to the ones in the link below, very different !

Thanks Ian. That's kind of how I feel as I'm not usually a fan of these style lights either but for some reason I don't mind them

Jeff and si, I'm a little unsure of the painting the back panel a dark colour. Might be worth photoshopping it.... not that I know how lol.

Jeff, I think you make a great point that their might be bits cut out in the boot. I'll have to check. I would prefer the afterburners to these, same as what Jason farrow has, but I couldn't find any when I briefly looked before.

Black would be too much of a contrast in my opinion. Try and find a photo of the rear of Andy Isherwood's old shortie, he did his in either a carbon or dark grey with afterburners and despite not being something I'd do, it looked really rather good.

Think I have some somewhere, wasn't it a cherry red though?

Here's a car a similar colour with afterburners

You could wrap that panel then at least you can change it cheaply and easily or take it off if you dont like it. Im not digging the afterburners

True, and I can probably have it done for free too since my best mate does it.

If it was my car, Lee, I'd make a set of 99 Spec replicas and tint the lower chambers. The car's lairy enough to get away from stock lights, but I'm not a fan of round taillights on these cars at the best of times.
