My Z is a 91 Japanese model and didn't come with anything. I have fitted a remote central locking kit and associated fob....

As you can see I also have a spare Nissan fob....

Looking at them both apart, is there any way I could modify the innards of the new fob into the old Nissan one? Could the buttons and top part of the PCB be modified so that they'd line up with the Nissan fob? Or could the transmitter and crystal be removed somehow from the new fob and be soldered to part of the Nissan PCB?

There would be no easy way, you also have a chip on the new fob which is probably some kind of security, so not as easy as just swapping bits

Do away with the Nissan intenals and you must be able to rig something up to to connect the Nissan Push switces to with the new switches

Just be very fiddly to do
