GregT
My silver tt has developed quite a coolant leak following a spirited drive. It seems to be coming from the underside of the plenum at the left hand side at the back corner. I can see a rubber hose which appears to be the place where the leak is coming from. The question is, do I need to remove the plenum to change it?
Stephen
I'd advise you do it once and properly, doing the plenum water bypass. Pretty sure you can loop it out even as a temporary measure. Apparently it's to prevent an issue with the throttle bodies in very cold climates, i.e. not southern England. https://z32.wikispaces.com/Coolant+Line+Bypass Edited June 11, 2017 by Stephen
GregT
Wow, that is quite a procedure! Why not just replace the offending hose? How difficult could it be?
Stephen
It's just a point of failure and getting to those pipes is a nightmare if in some cases not possible without plenum removal. Why not link out the offending piece as temporary measure until another job that requires plenum removal comes about. Just a bit fiddly.
