I am after a decent set of downpipes and test pipes for a 1990 300ZX TT manual car.

I want to be able to fit the test pipes immediately to the stock downpipes and at a later date fit the replacement downpipes when Powerzed do some work on the car.

I have looked online and from what I can see Japspeed are no longer available, the only ones I can get are in the USA but apparently the US spec cars differ to the JDM spec cars (according to one supplier). Overall the USA spec will fit but since the flange is in a different place between the downpipe and the test pipe, they will not marry up to the stock JDM downpipes.

I also understand that the stock JDM test pipe is the same for N/A and twin turbo cars (again information from the same supplier). Can anyone verify this?

I am therefore after either:

1.) A complete set of downpipes and test pipes in stainless steel new or second hand that will match to the OEM JDM downpipes/testpipes

2.) A second hand set of test pipes that will fit to the OEM/JDM downpipes already fitted

Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

My problem is that my car has had a powerflow exhaust fitted to it which will be coming off ASAP (too noisy for me). Powerflow cut the cats off and instead of flanging the exhaust system it is sleeved and clamped everywhere.

I will be fitting a full custom exhaust in six months time, but in the meantime I have acquired an OEM exhaust system in super condition that I would like to fit. Unfortunately my test pipes have been cut off to remove the cats and cannot marry up to the OEM system.

Any thoughts, offers or suggestions would be gratefully received.

That's a shame Japspeed stopped manufacturing them.

I suppose you will have to see if anyone has a stock cat pipe or decat pipes.

Think the Megan Racing version is still available.

Someone may have a new old stock Japspeed set hopefully or alternatively I can buy the USA set and get Powerzed to fit these later on. In the meantime, I could cobble together a flexible repair section with the correct flange welded on it and mate it up to the OEM system.

The custom exhaust people will supply new testpipes with their system however they mate up to the OEM downpipes and I want to replace these to ensure that the boss to receive the lambda sensor is new as well (out of stainless steel) thereby future proofing for Lambda sensor replacements. (thread stripping out through corrosion of the ferrous original)

The Megan Racing versions are available but are USA spec only and will not mate up to the JDM system. You either replace both the downpipes and test pipes together or nothing. Since I want to replace the test pipes several months before the downpipes this isn't an option.

It was during discussions with Concept Z Performance in the USA that they explained that the US spec downpipes and test pipes are different to the JDM spec ones and whilst overall they match up the connecting flange is at a different location and therefore you cannot temporarily mix and match which is what I need to do.
