Hi all I took the car out for the first time in a while, I did not want the battery to go flat in the garage, its not where I live, so I decided to fix a few bits then put it back, can't afford to drive it at moment but had to go to physio so made a worth while trip.

When I had my car MOT'ed it failed on the left tail break light and front left headlight. The guy put a bulb in the rear and a standard bulb in the front because it had a HID kit fitted. I tried another ballast but that just flickered so I decided to buy a cheap set of HID's, connected them up, right side works fine but passenger side flicked on then off. Tested the voltage same to both connectors, tested both HID's on right hand side both work. Ran an earth from the battery, again just flicked on then off. Swapped the relays, upgraded the fuses to 30amp right head light had a 15amp & left had a 20amp. I'm at a loss.

Thanks Tony. :headvswal

Don't think you've swapped over the HID bulbs though :).

'Upgrading' the fuses will make no difference, from memory are they 15amp, if so use the correct size.

Yes have tried both new units on both sides, but not the old existing HID still in the right hand side on the left side.

Have you tried disconnecting the rh ballast. Does the left now illuminate?

I'm sure I did try the only thing I can think of is when the hid is connected the voltage drops, I hate electrical problems, car going back into the garage tomorrow will have to wait for a month or two, at least its MOT'ed till January.

When I fitted mine I used the optional loom to take power direct from the battery switched via a relay. Just wondering if it's drawing to much..... are they the 35w or 55w kit?
