Hi all.

 

I thought i would ask if any not far from Hull would fancy doing a cambelt change for me. Obviously i would help.

It's not massively difficult if you want to do it yourself.

Okay then, most of my local garages wouldn't do it and some wanted around £1000 to do it, when you can do it in a few hours yourself if you know what you're doing.

Ask some question of the garage doing the work

> what is the minimum amount they do on a cambelt change

It should be cambelt, thermostat, inlet hoses, antifreeze and timing check anything less is a poor job.

Extras like water pump and cambelt pulleys ask for a price for those and for them to be inspected along with the ancillary belts.

 

Insist on a genuine Nissan cambelt and correct temperature thermostat.

Insist on seeing all old parts removed and changed, ask for a picture to be taken when stripped

 

After you have asked these questions and got satisfactory answers you might find the price has changed.

 

Save yourself the grief of an unqualified job results and call Jim at PowerZed, well worth the journey and less costly in the long run.
