Posted November 16, 20168 yr I have just got hold of a set of front 350z Brembo calipers and 345mm discs. I know I need adaptors- can anyone point me at someone who sells them? Also, I want to get the calipers refurbed and repainted a nicer Brembo colour than orange- can anyone recommend a refurbisher? If they just strip and reseal, that's fine as I can get them painted. Finally, anyone know of a source of the Brembo transfers on them? Many thanks for any pointers, advice etc- I'm just looking forward to stopping a lot quicker! Regards to all Dave
November 16, 20168 yr Generally people use the stock size disc from the 350z a 320mm disc for those Dave. No mods required aside from enlarging the mount. The 345mm discs are generally using Brembos from an EVO, which do require a bracket.
November 17, 20168 yr Author Thanks Stephan Now I'm really confused- I am putting these calipers with Mondos discs which I havn't received yet- 'The discs are 325mm x 32mm Brembo discs from a 350Z. These were brand new about 2.5 years ago and have seen maybe 3k miles of use.', but Si has today been told that they are apparently 345mm and I will need adaptors to put them on the Z32.
November 17, 20168 yr Without being rude, I sounds like you don't know what you've got. So I suggest waiting till you actually have them, then you can measure up and identify properly. The stock 350z Brembos use a 320 odd mm disc, that tallies with that 325mm figure you suggested. These discs fit directly to the 300zx. The calipers use a slightly larger mounting bolt, m14 rings a bell in my mind, to mount the caliper to the hub. You need to run a drill through the mounting hole to accommodate the larger bolt. Other than that a straight fit. If they are the 345mm discs things are a bit more complex, I've not heard anyone use 350z calipers on 345mm discs though. As I say, get them to you first and then we can work out what you've got.
November 17, 20168 yr This is basically my fault, Stephen. I advertised them as being 350Z discs, which is why Dave was of the impression that they'd match his new calipers perfectly. It was only when I got one off the car last week and measured it that I found out that they're actually 345mm in diameter. Having done some research online last night, I think my kit may have been supplied by DB Power originally, as they (he?) seemed to offer the three sizes that were mentioned on the fitting instructions that mine came with. Whether I still have those instructions or not is a different matter... I'll have a look today.
November 17, 20168 yr Author Don't mind you being rude...looking for a darkened room... Obviously a misunderstanding alround as I became convinced that they were 350Z, just 345mm. Ah well- thanks for your help- you can't be far from me...I'm in Swanage Dave
