I doubt that will fit a standard Zed. I have a feeling you will need to modifiy the front bumper to get this baby to fit.

Check the 300zxforums.com

Carlos Ramirez has it. And he also has a WW bodykit.

He says is straight bold on. With a few modifications

Check out his post. It must be 3rd or fourth. Is the one with the pictures.

gee!! thats some intercooler. wouldnt mind having one of those, but need the rebuild first!

and get in on the group buy im doing :D:D

if youd like ill mail you details.

they do fit under stock front bumper.

Oh and i can kill that price :D

Nitropow that looks very nice, but remember by fitting a huge intercooler you are going to restrict the air flow to your rad,so you will get a cracking result in lowering the charge temp, but the engine will run hotter:(

The GTR front mounted ones now come with electric fans to cool the rad.

Good point. I havent thought about it.

But maybe an Electric fan on this one might solve the problem i guess.

Or I can use something external (maybe plastic pipes) that will direct the air from the front to the Radiator.

I wil ask Carlos if he has any issues and I'll let you know

the funny thing about this, is that its a big myth where the cars overheat ect... yet speak to the guys with front mounts and they dont seem to have a problem ?(of the people i know on ttnet)

would be interesting to actually see some proven results regarding how it affects temperature.

to much specualtion regarding this.

But where would the intercooler for the auto box then go,becouse thats the same place as where mine is,(admitingly its not as big as that!),cheers,Tony

Ok well It is not rocket science to stick a great big front mount intercooler infront of a rad is it?It will restrict the airflow through the rad 100% guarantee!

The picture I showed was for a GTIR,the company that designed it had to do the kit with a pair of lecy fans,as the old system they did without any fans was allowing the engine to run hotter!

why not just have to larger intercoolers where the originals go? or does this beastie work much better?

i know and i agree, im just saying loads and loads of people say this about front mounts (and i have heard it a thousand times from people without front mounts) im sure it does, but then why do the big sklines and poopras ect not have problems (and the froptn mounts they have are massive) then of cours look in the options book and they feature 10 zeds all with front mounts. it is defo the route if your after very big horespower.(having said that, none of us make BIG power in that respect) and then of course you need to move the air filters and the oil filter ect.

you can do that ie like this http://rides.300zx.co.uk/rides/3/My%20intercooler%20design.jpg

thats the units i designed. And they work a treat. Front mounts just give you a far larger surface to cool air. (again though only if you have far bigger blowers ect) is it worth doing.

You're all forgetting thev main benefit of the front mount, they look the nuts :D:D:D

I agree 100%

That intercooler does restrict air flow to the engine and you will get a higher engine temp driving around normally. Maybe it's suited for racing. I would never put that on my "road car"... just beware - that's all...

I agree 100% Jez,nice hot air exiting the rear of the intercooler, and cooling down the rad:D:D:D

Also can you imagine the turbulence created inside when both turbos are fighting for the air:D

Oh what about the lagg too!

I would NOT fit one if it was given to me for free!

the funny thing about all this is.. i have just spoken to TWINTURBO PETE of ttnet. (bear in mind the only one with an actual front mount lol) and he has no problems whatsoever running a massive front mount and 1.7bar. he makes over 700 wheel horespower ?

Laag would not be a problem iether as the higher boost you can run and the pipework is really not noticably that much longer.

Who cares I dont!

Have spoken to a company that have been making intercoolers for years, PeterR and Latz about it,you have your opinion and I have mine.

Do a search on twinturbo.net before spending a lot of money on this.

Also beware if you have a UK spec, the Oil cooler is much bigger than the US/Jap one and I dunno if there are space problems. And again, if you have an auto and fitted the auto box cooler up the front.

I also would not fit one to my car if it were free, I'd sell it to you though! :)

Jez.

you move the oil cooler i belive to one of the sides, you also move the air filters of to the sides.

but then i guess people have actually got the mod would be able to advise a bit better regarding the subject.

stupid sarci comments i guess whenever people dont agree

i mean on a serious note, does it not make sense to listen to someone who actually has done this modification or to people who specualte over it?

So why did Nelson fit twin IC's as stock then?

Wazza, why did you fit your very own designed and thoroughly tested pukka units and run a group buy only to find that you were not happy and now you are going to move to a FMIC??? Baffled!!! :D

Are you saying that yours were arse?

Not having a dig as I really cannot be arsed but this does seem strange.

If like me you have an aftermarket autobox cooler then an oil cooler then the rad to get to I wouldn't fit a FMIC unless I was Ronald McDonald or really, really Harry Potter as sometimes I believe I am! LMFAO :D
