The locks on my Z are all pretty stiff.

Just wondering how hard it is to change the locks on a Z?

I really have no idea what the task involves.

First try and give them a good soak with WD40 spray it into the keyhole,I never use my door locks as I have full remote access.Last month I had the same problem, works fine now!

However If you need to change them, door trim off and not a big job to take them out;)

Cool, thanks for the advice Mac, give them a good wd40 bath.

Really aught to get some remote alarm thing sorted to, currently it's just got an imobiliser.

Yea am sure that will work for you, when I say SOAK I mean SOAK,keep squirting it through the key hole, then when you got plenty in there, start to work the key around very gently;)

i had remote unlocking ,locks never used for 5 years, they are easy to take out dismantle and clean up and refit, then they work ok, do the boot first so that you can get into the car with a power failure, flat battery

Lock mechanisms are best lubricated with graphite powder, not anything that is wet/oily/sticky etc, otherwise they'll just fill up with dust/fluff/crap and then sieze when you most need them. You ought to be able to buy appropriate lubricants from any locksmith.

Point taken Andy,my locks were stiffer than a bloke taking 6 Viagra:DThey still work fine now no fluff in my keyholes mate;)
