Just asking in case anyone can help.

 

Hi all on Tuesday 18th I was pushing a car and my leg gave way, excruciating pain could not move for half an hour. It looks like I have strained my calf muscle, went to hospital the doctor poked it a few times and sent me home with some crutches. The thing that bothers me is I cannot touch the area or put any pressure on my foot, I do not have any swelling or bruising. Mostly having to crawl around the house and not being able to get anything done is a real s**t.

 

Do I need to go back to the hospital for a scan ?

I definitely think that would be the way to go (to go to the hospital for a full analysis). If you've actually torn a ligament it won't just heal itself on its own.

Stop asking on a car forum and book in with your GP. I've had more sports injuries like that than birthdays and not getting the right help will bigger you up. I damaged my ACL in 2003, let it rest a bit then just got on with it. Suffered 3 patella dislocations in 6 months after that. Still have issues with it now. My right shoulder is also pissed because I hit a tree at about 25mph and broke my collar bone, didn't bother with the hospital. I've got a boomerang for a collar bone now.

Or pulled muscle in calf is painful & makes the calf swell, hard & painful to walk.

Need to assess u have not had an Achilles repture? Thomas test & Achilles' tendon palpation !

Ta have a review at physio for my back on Tuesday might as well wait for that.

Unfortunately like most! last Tuesday to now Saturday?

R u taking any meds? Anti inflams, painkillers?

Have u iced it 30 mins twice a day since? Possibly no!

Massaged? Any heat treatment now & or stretching? Maybe not?

Hurts to touch

Tuesday will be the quickest I can see a physio.

Zeds are flipping heavy, was three / four weeks before i could say it was totally ok, I did get it checked over by the GP as was worried about a blood clot but was ok, elevate and wrap in cold / damp cloth is the trick, however now a few years later I can tell it is bit weaker, if I swim with my fins on I feel it reminding me to be careful.

Exactly like you then left leg only thing is I cannot walk to be immobile for weeks will ruin me totally.

 

Now where did I leave the Stanley knife.

Do you sit down at work? Tight hamstrings are a bitch and leave you prone to injury.

 

I've had hamstring cramps for hours while sitting, waking up at night with severe cramps, DOMS for over a week in one calf even... eventually strained or tore a tendon in one leg, which was surprisingly a good thing as it eased most of those symptoms!

 

Not too much you can do really, just stretch them a lot. Definitely see a doctor/physio to begin.

No was pushing a car. I have been out of work for 4 years getting over 2 back operations, was going to start working part time next month.
