Drone over our heads last Sunday was amazingly stable, watched how they could move about so nimble and steady, anyhow main picture on our club page now, looks great I think, and see if you can spot the M6 at the back under the palm tree`s??

Joely and I had a think about it, maybe if there is enough interest within the club we could collectively contribute, but for a nice one with good stabilisation and image quality they are quite expensive. Sub £100 drones are completely useless for taking pictures/videos as the image quality and stability is terrible.

Might be best to hire one for the day or something.

Sorry to sound like a kiljoy but having a good few years experience of RC helicopters and the problems that can happen it really pisses me off when drones fly over our cars at the Preston Supercar meet without permission. These thinks are a bloddy menace , god help the owner of the first one that crashes into zebedee or myself at a meet. Sounds a bit bah humbug but it does and has happened a number of times. A couple of years ago i witnessed a drone go out of control and hit a young lad in the face he was very lucky to keep his sight and was scared for life. Also you are not supposed to fly within 50m of any structure not under your direct control particularly a gathering of people. Drones are fabulous technology but people operate them irresponsibly in my view.

Its all relative I guess and embracing new technology that is available, like anything new the rules and laws surrounding it are presently in catch up mode whilst China makes as many as they can before regulations really kick in.

Personally not seen them been flown in a bad way and at events such as car shows or concerts only official sanctioned and trained operatives should be allowed. The technology on drones gets better on a weekly basis and early generation ones were more likely to have bad things happen in untrained hands, but I guess Ian your concerned on the potential damage to your car or yourself is understandable.

As with everything, not all drone operaters are idiots, many do take courses and have paid thousands for top tech drones so crashing it really is not on their to do list.
