Hi Knowledgeable bunch...... I have a NA 2+2..... Fitted a TT engine and NA automatic transmission.

Now looking to fit a TT automatic transmission linked to an NA rear end and Diff.....

What Prop shaft do I need...... TT front and NA rear of 2 prop shafts, will an NA 2+2 prop work / fit??

Or a one piece prop made to fit??

Thanks

I'd have thought that a LWB auto NA prop would be the best bet. Either that or a one-piece made to suit that application.

I believe russ that the front of the prop is the same for TT and NA auto, your current prop should slide straight in. Correct me if im wrong here anyone

Is a TT auto the same length as an na auto?

Someone on nicoclub said the TT is about an inch longer so the prop wouldn't fit?

side-by-side, the turbo transmission is about an inch longer.

That is what I read too.......

I thought you could use an Na rear half with a TT front?!

Correct mate, he will need to use the NA rear prop section to match up with the NA diff flange, it's whether or not the front section of a auto prop is different between TT and NA.

I'm currently using a TT manual front prop and a NA rear prop, as mine is a manual conversion from a NA auto originally.

That is what I was thinking....... but would then need balancing....... so would need a specialist!

Or try the NA prop for size and see.......

I would like a perfect fit one piece prop...... but need to find out the spec to use first and prices.......

Well the tape measure was out today....

The NA auto box complete is 25mm longer than the NA box...

So my NA prop shaft needs to be 25mm shorter...

NA auto 510mm front + 539mm rear = 1049mm

TT auto 489mm front + 508mm rear = 997mm

required length = 1024mm

1024 - 539 = 485mm which is almost front of TT prop….. + 4mm too long...

So if I get a TT front half and mate it to my NA rear half and get it balanced........ Should be okay????

Or have a one piece Shaft made 25mm shorter than the NA one?

Thoughts???
