I need to replace all 4 speakers as some of them don't work and they are poor quality.

I can see that the rear ones are 6x4 but not sure on the fronts as I've not removed the door card recently. Does anyone know what the stock front jdm speaker size is for a 91 model?

Also, any recommendations on what I should replace them with. I'm not wanting to spend to much and don't really want to modify anything... Just a straight swap will be good:)

I'm pretty sure 5.25 inch speakers fit straight in, although it was a few years ago since I replaced mine. I fitted some JBL speakers, they were only about £25 a pair. They sound good, but I have got a hidden amp and sub, which means they don't have to handle any bass.

I have a set of Alpine direct fit speakers i bought from Mark Derby a couple of years ago, still not fitted em yet could be a job for this week while im off. Ill dig em out and measure em up if you want dave.

I fitted Infinity 6x9 behind the door card, I removed the steel plate holding the stock speaker and fabricated an mdf panel

to hold the 6x9 using the stock steel sheet as a template, door still looks stock too no nasty holes ect.

If you have the stock metal speaker brackets then 6" will drop in. 6.5" can be fitted with a DIY adapter

mounting ring.

Ah good stuff, I'll probably go for 6" if no modifying is required. I had a quick look after I posted this last night without taking the whole door card off... Would I be right in saying the originals are around 5"?

Please Ian, I think Lee said to me that alpine speakers are a nice upgrade ages ago. Let me know what size and whether they just bolt straight in:)
