Alic I think the idea of an events calendar on the home page is a great one.. Not sure how easy or hard it would be to do, but I'm sure Gaz or Craig could look in to it..

It would make life easy to find out what's going on and when..

What do you think Gaz?

Sounds good to me Paul and one for Jaikai to look into.

i can only echo everyone else's comments about how fantastic the meet, the cars, the people and the weather was this weekend. awesome, despite the sun burn.

regarding other awards:

Yes, there were a few others in the initial list, but they were dropped out to be more car focused, considering the event type.

However, i do think we should have a bunch of member related awards like that towards the end of the year, along with Car of the Year, etc.

It's hard to include those in the AGM (despite being the ideal place) because the best time for the AGM style meet is the middle of the year.

I like the idea of a calendar ticker on the top somewhere as well, but it needs to work for web and app users, and be visible to people that don't see the front page much.

maybe a link/hover/popup between the logo and banners.

we can discuss with Lee about how to get that up and running, and what would work.

my thinking cap is already on for next year, taking on board many of the AGM comments, and the committee will have a busy time discussing the ins and outs :-)

thanks to everyone for showing that the club really is a great place to be, and needs everyone to contribute to make it better.

btw, if anyone who attended did not get the metal Z memento, let me know and i will post one out.

I'm a programmer and have some previous experience with vBulletin so let me know if there's anything I can do

Just to add to all that has already been said, fantastic weekend with some of the best cars in the club there and of course great owners. Thanks to all Committee etc for the organisation. I made a last minute decision to fly over, time and funds not allowing the ferry, and I was so glad not to have missed it. For me the club has always been as much about the people as the cars. I met up with some old friends, met some new members, saw great cars, lovely meal and a bit of fun/banter on Sat night, thanks Mondo!! Et all. I had a great drive with Ianl in his convert able to the venue, didn't realise how mad I was telling him to break lights and go faster when he was already at 120. Sorry.

The first Club event I went to was in Coventry in 2003/4 and was very memorable as it was the first time I seen a convoy of Zs. And all these years later I still get the same feeling when I see them all together

Next time I will have my car there Thanks all.

Hi Gaz!

I have just done bank transfer payment for 19/07/2016

As I've use the banks app it won't do today's date!

Not working for me Gaz, says link is unavailable or may be broken??

Anyone else getting the same? It may just be me?

Yes, "or the Page may only be visible to an audience that you aren't in." Probably means you have to be the friend of Gary's to view on facebook.

Nice idea there Alic, that will be a useful tool to remind regular users and guide infrequent users of upcoming events that may be of interest to them. I do recall talking to club members at the last meet in Maldon about the Coventry meet and they had no idea what I was talking about! Anyone in this club should be aware of our main events and I agree it should somehow be rammed in our faces. JaiKai is the web administrator type guy who can answer exactly what can and cannot be done with these proposals.

I do confess however that I would very rarely see that page, I just logged in to prove my point and I have 332 notifications on the forum as I haven't "logged in" for a while! Tapatalk doesn't interface with those parts of vbulletin.

I can see your point, but still an effort should be made on the website anyway, Tapatalk users (which I am but not exclusive to it) are quite slim compared to the overall traffic so changing the website should be worth it IMO.

Paul should see it as he is a friend.

huh, could you upload it to youtube or something?

Hey should see it on my FB page Ally so let's see mate

Never mind, don't worry mate.

I don't see it and I should at least be a friend of a friend. facebook page just seems to have Joels video

There has been a calendar function built into the forum since the day it was launched.

But its only ever been used for Birthday notifications.

It could easily be used to add events and we could have a summary page too .

Oh no, we didnt vote for the nostrils, whether or not its anyones cup of tea, you could see the time and hard work it took to put it together, and there was no other engine bay like it. Yes shiny engine bays can look nice but every second engine is covered with chrome and they get boring.

Definitely interesting talking about the meets. I've been trying my best to set up some SE meets with some success and some non attendees a couple of times now. There are numbers down here, and its not necessarily that they're not busy, its sometimes they forget or miss the post completely. Other than our little SE meet from time to time, the only other regular thing i've seen is the preston supercar meet. Do people not fancy a Z chat in other areas or is it lack of organization?

Not trying to point fingers, but REOs have really been letting the regions down IMO. I believe the SE REO is Terry (maybe i'm wrong, then who is?), but I haven't seen any organisation of whether it just be a coffee or a local meet they spotted going on, and same goes for every reigon. Of course some regions may not get a turnout at all but its all the club community to make an effort to make it more enjoyable for everyone.

I couldn't really comment on what people like to do at events, but Sunday was great and I didn't really expect anything more to do, I honestly couldn't be bothered that it was at a museum and it wasn't really a family event so my family didnt attend.

Here's my proposal; This will not solve people not wanting to go to meets, but giving people the best oppotunity to know about it and clear the diary would be idea. I think the front page should have a calendar/list of upcoming events that REOs could post (or anyone, and be approved by moderators) so even if epople go on here once a month can see what is coming up, and for people to see events in the future and clear the diary's.

Good to hear that jaikai.. So it shouldn't be too much of a headache for you to sort it which is great news..
