Just a quicky.... Can anyone tell me where I can get a headlight bulb asap. I dont fancy getting pulled by the plod. Its an import 89 300zx and the bulb has 2 prongy things unlike the one in Harrys which had just one? Thanks a lot for any help recieved and merry xmas one and all.

Someone asked about JP bulbs not so long ago, so it might be worth searching for that thread... otherwise, get the ones from Halfords (H3s, is that right?) and solder an earth wire to the base of the bulb - this will replace the BLUE wire on your J-specs :)

HTH

Leigh did have some left a couple of weeks ago. They are 85W H3Cs (the ones with 2 prongs) and in my car they are much better than the 55W H3s (with soldered earth wire) or the 55W H3 xenons I had on there before.

I can pretty much see where I'm going in the dark now! :D

Dave, have you had to do anything else to deal with the higher power? I mean like changing relays, etc etc... I too would like to see where I am going :S

Oh, if Leigh doesn't have any (I got my 55w ones from him - excellent price, fast delivery), another place to try might be ZCentre - I think they advertise J-spec bulbs on the website, but the price is roughly twice what they cost from Leigh.

Not yet, but it's still too early to be able to say for sure that I won't get problems with overheating.

I've tried H3 100W bulbs before and they kept blowing every couple of weeks or so, but I think that was probably due to using an earth cable that was too thin.

Gaurdian do an H3c 65w for about £14 ea. your friendly accesory store should be able to get them in about 24hr.

Also PIAA do them, H3c 55w super white with 85w eqiuv. output, so no worry about overheat or current draw on wiring.

You can get them in about 2 days, again from any PIAA stockist.

There is a catch though they cost £23.00/each +vat.

But a great improvement-you can see where you are going!:D

Thanks for that info :) I'll start looking around for these super whites, then probably go for the Guardian ones when the £23 price tag is confirmed ;) Jeez, that's alot when you add on VAT.. I mean, J-specs usually seem to be about £20 a bulb (inc VAT), and I thought *that* was alot... phew.

Anyway, thanks... going to search about for bargains now...

Hi Guys,

I have some 85W bulbs left not many though, about 5 I think if anyone wants some let me know by email. £11 each inc P&P.

Thanks,

Leigh
