Hello!

So to continue on with my obsession with rebuilding parts of my zed now I am happy with my seats and ready to install the sub build I want to play with composites and am going to pick up a carbon fibre setup.

The idea is to build some small a bits and bobs, and then perhaps try fabricating something larger like a spoiler or front lip.

Does anyone had any thoughts or words of experience first hand in doing this? If it worked out I might look into getting set up as a trader to sell some bits seeing as I would have made he moulds anyway.

I understand it will be a learning curve and take ages to get finished products, but retrimming Seats wasn't a quick process ;)

Best regards,

W

I did a bit at uni, be prepared to get covered in loads of itchy fibres! We found it really difficult to get good finishes, but I'm sure with enough practice you'll get the hang of it.

Oh and get good ventilation, a guy in the year above me practically passed out from the fumes lol

Google a company called Easy Composites. Their website has all the stuff you will need and theres a great training video section that has tons of useful stuff like how to make molds and more importantly vacuum bag resin casting techniques.

Thanks for the feedback guys! no horror stories so I think I will go with this.

I will be workign outside for most of it, but will pick up a good quality filtering mask.

Cheers!

There's a guy called Paul - 111mattin111 he's on here and makes his own carbon stuff. Jaffa does too. Have a look at their posts both have awesome stuff coming out!
