Right I've got a late style ecu, confused as to what to do with it, it's been previously chipped, contemplating if I can afford a stand alone ecu, been recommended the link g4+ as it's a plug in for the 300zx, are there any other good ones out there any recommendations? Tried an early ecu in my old na (also 16 bit) just caused errors...

Should be able to fit 8 bit ecu into a previously 16 bit zed, done it a few times with no codes or issues.

All the early ECUs are 8 bit, it's only something like 1995 onwards that are 16bit. The 16bit ones are not generally tunable/chipable, or rather they are but there are very few options around. Many people have put 8bit ECUs into newer cars with no problem. I have no idea what happens if you put a 16bit ECU in an old car.

I'll try to find an early ecu then, gave an ecu warning of fuel solenoid iirc, maybe the twin turbo won't be a problem,

Well I guess I'd better check it is a 16 bit ecu then, if it's been chipped maybe it's already been swapped, but my zed is a 1995.
