Hi all

Looking for any advice on Insurance companies. I have tried a few but none so far want to insure a modified 300zx TT.

Please can you let me know who you are using ? I couldn't find a sticky in the forum anywhere.

Thx

That's a bit steep unless you're my age.

Generally I have found that Adrian Flux does not provide the cheapest deals, but they are (one of) the biggest companies so are good to deal with and have good policies.

I'm with Lancaster insurance, mods declared 4.5k guaranteed value and 340 for year with 4k limited mileage.

Thats was my reaction as well. I thought Adrian Flux were affiliated to offer 300zx members a better price or to support 300zx club members in getting modified imports at reasonable rates ? There is a difference being competitive and extortionate ! Disappointing to say the least especially as i have only one none fault accident where i was stationary and I am approaching the half century in a couple of years !!

Thanks again for the Insurance list and I will not be discouraged so easily :-)

Lancaster still need to get back to me as it was referred to the underwriters to calculate my risk profile.

Footman James was really good for me. Really impressed with their service and hassle free online quote:)

Insurance is pot luck and all depends what you want do you just want be able drive the car or do you need agreed value and age points etc my insurance is really high not on zed on my x5 I'm 35 1 years no claims one claim and dr10 I pay a grand I'm expecting my zed insurance to be about 2k once it's on road less I put it in my sisters name who only has provisional and insure it prob be a grand cheaper, insurance for provisional drivers is cheap as chips on decent cars too my mates got insurance on a BMW 328 as a learner and it's cheaper than mine go figure.

Yes but you can only have the provisional while you haven't passed the test correct?

Yes correct which is why my mate hasn't bothered even trying to pass his test as he always has someone to sit next to you insurance is messed up but don't not get me started I've just been screwed by my house insurance after a break in.

Haven't you guys got some sort of "oldtimer--insurance"? I pay 100 euro a year and exempt for any future technical inspection.

Mike

Lol old timer insurance dosnt kick in till your 65 ans soon as you mention import and modified it jumps from whatever plus a grand and you can only get classic insurance if you have another car in you name with insurance on it I found this out as I had a lease car daily and they wouldn't do me classic because the lease insurance wasn't mine lol, it's a nightmare I hate insurance company's is there not one specifically for the club there should be one that takes in to account how little car used and that your an enthusiast not a chav in a super up corsa redlining first through to Fitth before you hit that tree!!

That's around the age the price starts to go back up!

Both Gary and I had that problem with their online quote thing, but they can sort it over the phone.

I phoned them this morning and was referred to underwriter but the increase in bhp is too excessive. May need to map down :-(

Are most of your cars modified ? And what bhp are you running them at ?

Modified yes, needs a tune, but it has supporting mods for around 400.

Did they ask for the HP rating? For me they just asked for mods, so; induction, exhaust, boost controller, coilovers, uprated smic, ecu, blah blah.
