I've got bigger SMICs on the way and think the extra room will help installation and flow to the intercooler

Is it safe to remove the coal canister? Downfalls?

Has anyone found a smaller overflow tank that they mounted? If yes do you have instructions xD! If not i think I will remove it after reading a thread on here on this case.

So,

Would you remove them?

I'm more concerned with the coal canister really. If there's any alternatives too.

Thanks

Personally I would keep the expansion tank, it helps keep the system pressurised and topped up.

Helps maintain better engine temperature also.

I removed and then subsequently refitted my carbon canister system (here's why):

The coolant system is designed as a no loss system with the expansion bottle acting as an overflow and

recovery reservoir for the coolant. If you want to replace the OEM one then you could go for one of the

smaller aftermarket designs available:

In theory could you put in any overflow tank from another car? They should work the same and have the same plumbing?

Think I'm going to leave the coal canister for now as i don't know what alternatives there is to it. Thinking I'm going to try find a small a expansion tank as possible, is there anything special ill need on the tank or will any tank from any car work?

Bicycle drink bottle with the cage holder. Cut the nozzle off the lid and feed the hose into it to the bottom of the bottle. You can mount it to the back of the front bumper under the nose panel. Out of sight and still easy to get at.

That sounds like a plan to me. Thank you!
