clutch spigot bush???

My TT has been in to my local Nissan dealer today to try and diagnose an intermittent bearing squeal from clutch /gearbox area when driving from cold.

They admit they don't have a clue what it is, but suggest spigot bush.

Symptoms are:

Faint rattle on cold start at idle with clutch pedal up. Disapears when clutch pedal depressed.

Bad bearing squeal intermittent at about 2000 rpm, from clutch area when driving and clutch pedal up, disapears when warm after 5 mins.

Anyone any experience of spigot bush failure?

Nightmare to diagnose that kind of thing. My personal view would be that it's not worth playing with until something breaks or you need a new clutch anyway - and then do the whole job.

If you've got the money then go for a complete clutch (possibly and upgraded one) rather than try to solve the problem with 'small' fixes.
